spyder top wont go down

I just got into the whole DSM thing.....and picked up a 97 spyder

i was wondering if someone can show me how 2 drop my top down?
also why is there a leak ??

There's a button for that. If it doesn't work, look at your manual, it states how to get the top down manually.

Because it's damaged ? Is it ripped or something ? Where does the water enter ?
 
Be careful that the hinged brace on the left and right side of the top (behind the rear window) You only see it with the top partially in the down position. It tends to bend and then the top doesn't go down all the way. The part cost about $165.00 from the dealer ( each side). The elastic attached to the 'brace' that goes bad then it doesn't pull the brace as it should causing it to stick. This causes it to bend when you try to put the top all the way down.

This is exactly what i wsa going to say. I've had this priblem with my for some time but i have recently stiched in some new elastic and then made some support bars from like 3/16" ss round and hooked that to the support braces and now it works fine.
