When i bought my car the driver side window was totally gone and someone had put blue tape on the door and on the roof of the car. The tape looks like it's been sun-dried onto the car. Is there any good way to remove this?
I've been trying to soak it with water and then scrape it off with a plastic tool but it hasn't been working very well.

Thanks in advance

use something sharper than a plastic tool. Use a razor blade, but make sure that the blade is wet when doing so or you could scratch the glass. Like the last two guys said i'd also suggest weting the tape with goof off or gas and scrape it with a razor worked for me.

Goo-gone should do it if you let it sit and as long as the surface is warm(ie. not winter). A heat gun might work as well.

Well i got off the part that was on the window but most of it is on the paint so i cant use a razor blade. Any other suggestions?

They make a rubber wheel for taking off pinstrips, That you can use with you're drill. I found one at the local bodyshop store.

I had this same problem when I used to do body work on semis. The people that rented the trucks would use packing tape to fix their printed out logos to the side of the cabs! All you need to do is get a plastic decal or wallpaper spreader and lacquer thinner (Autozone, Home Depot, etc.). Completely soak a rag in thinner and spread it over the tape; now use that spreader to scrape it off. It'll go from sticky to gooey in a few seconds, so that's where the spreader really comes in handy - otherwise it's impossible to get off with just a rag. Wipe it down with another portion of the rag soaked in thinner, then wipe it once or twice with a clean rag and you're done. Now be glad you don't have to do that thirty times. :D

WD-40 or Some good ol fashion gasoline.

Don't use these on a car's paint; they'll destroy it.

He said the paint is on the car's finish, not the glass. I wouldn't recommend using a razor on the paint unless you really know what you're doing. They're best used for the small factory applied decals, pinstriping, or other difficult stickers.

My uncle had a body shop for over 20 years and he used gasoline and wd-40,and he never harmed anything.Exactly what does gasoline and wd-40 have that will damage paint?

I actually tried the WD-40 and it made the paint look like it was a maaco job, im pretty sure it wore off after a while though, haven't looked at it yet since then.
