Alright, so when I bought my 98 Eclipse GS, it already had an aftermarket cd player in it. But I noticed that the head unit skips on all of my cd's. I might be getting a new one for xmas but is the head unit the problem? Or could it be the actual CD player itself installed to replace the casette player? Hope that made sense. Thanks in advance. BTW i know it's not my CD's.

Er... the head unit, deck, cd player (multi-cd changer trunk units aside) are pretty much one and the same. Like saying 'bound volume, book, dictionary'.

If it's skipping, it might be a cheap one and had fallen out of alignment. See if it has a manufacturer 'reset' button... my old Aiwa would go through a re-calibration every time you reset the unit. Too bad the eject stopped working. :b
