i am working on fiberglassing a screen into what used to be a pass. airbag. would like to see what you guys have done with fiberglass and screens. this is in a 2g but all fiberglass screen work is ok. thanks
sam

I don't have a 2g, sorry.

I do prefer aluminum screens. They don't turn white after a few years (like the fiberglass screen will). Each spring I like to rinse them off and they look brand new.

If you choose to DIY, just make sure they aren't drawn too tight during the install and they'll last for at least six to eight years!

I have a question as well. I don’t mean to jack this thread but since I am doing the same I figure no need to start a new one.
Anyway, as far as the fibre glassing part, since it is the dash and it is in direct contact with sunlight the majority of the time, how do you prevent it from cracking or shrinking? Would this apply to the trunk as well if I’m doing a custom fibreglass enclosure?
Any insight on this is greatly appreciated.

how'd you get the stock fabric stuff to stretch like that. you'd think that it would be too short to cover the extra area for protruding the screen towards the passenger.
