St. Louis,
Hey,

I have a 1990 Plymouth Laser and I use to be able to burn CDs and it would play in the OEM CD player fine. Now when I go to burn CDs they don't play. It still plays the older CDs I burned before, but not the new ones. I'm probably doing something different because I haven't burned a CD to use in the Laser for a long time. So does anyone have any methods to burn a CD to work with these old CD players?

If the old burned discs still work fine, it's your burn settings. Remember to use Disc-At-Once mode, or Track-At-Once mode and be absolutely CERTAIN that you Finalize the disc.

Then try it in a home stereo. My bet is that you didn't finalize the disc properly.

One thing I've noticed is that they type of disc you use can affect how likely a cd player is to play it. The OLD memorex cd's (had a darker blue color) had a heavier paint layer and played on just about everything. The newer kinds (teal-ish colored) have a thinner paint layer and don't seem to play as well. That's just my experience with them, though.
