Eclipse to Talon conversion?

Well Hey everyone.

I don't know why exactly I am even asking this, but the thought has crossed my mind to convert my 97GSX, to a 97?TSI. I know this has been done to death, referring to Talon to Eclipse conversions, but I was just wondering what exactly would I need to make the switch from Eclipse to Talon. Everyone around is buying up the Eclipse's so I wanna switch it up a little bit. What would I need to do this? Also, what would I need to do to install the 3 piece spoiler aswell? I know this is a stupid newb question, and yes I did search for it, but all I get are Eclipse to Talon conversions. I know I will probally get scorned for thinking of the idea of switching the amazing looking 2gb Eclipse front end for the Talon, but I kind of feel as though the Talon has a more aggressive looking front end, and there is not a single one around these parts so I want to change it up, do something out of the ordinary. Thanks in advance for your help, and if you don't honestly have anything constructive to say other then flaming, don't bother posting because it is not appreciated, and not needed. Thanks again.

From what I am thinking, it seems as though I will need, Front Bumper, Rear Bumper, ?headlights?, taillights, fogs and spoiler. Am I missing anything?

edit-the conversion I am referring to would be the 2gb talon.

You're right this topic has been beatin to death, but not so much the ECLIPSE TO TALON conversion.

I think it would be great to see someone do this, it would be something different for a change. You nailed everything about what you need for the conversations, yes you will need new headlights as the talon kept the 95-96 eclipse headlights threw out its production as a 2nd gen. The skirts on a 97-98 talon are different as well, they have the rolled look I believe.

If you plan on going all out for the convserion, two other things I can think of is painted the top half of the car black, like all the talons are, and finally, even buy a new talon steering wheel so no one can tell AT ALL your driving an Eclipse

You know that Eclipses sell more than Talons of the same year, the same mileage, and the same trim level, right?



Front and rear bumper, and those funky side skirts. You have to get a new spoiler and refinish the spot your turbo spoiler was removed.

It wont be complete until you paint your roofline black too. That's the Talon thing that I like, the 2 tone look.

97-98 talons have NO side skirts what so ever.

Headlights aren't really all that necessary since the 97-99 headlights fit just right, just aren't "authentic"...

Also 97-99 are very rare to come across and VERY expensive.....so i'd skip those also....

My 98 Talon doesn't have any side skirts. You could find someone who wants to do the Talon to Eclipse conversion and trade parts. I'll trade my talon driver side airbag for an eclipse airbag any day.

Good luck finding 2Gb Talon parts.
