pretty much all the trim on my car is rotted... so id like to replace all of it.. is there like a kit they sell somewhere or are there places that do this kind of stuff? how much would it cost me?

A friend told me bout trim paint at auto zone becuase my trim had also just goten eatten away, try it out it did my car wonders, just sand it and paint it, works great and cant tell the diffrence, its about 4-5 bucks, save you alot of money.

You dont even want to know what those trim pieces will cost you. I've been buying new ones little by little and you have to get them from satan, since shipping cost on them is crazy because they will only ship them by semi for some reason. i can tell you that the upper door window drip mouldings alone were around $100 for the pair. :toobad:  .

I would assume you are talking about the vinyl parts of your interior. If that is the case, they could be re-done with new vinyl, or just fiberglassed if you wanted. If your plastic pieces are bad, I suggest painting or fiberglassing them as well.

If you are talking about the interior plastic pieces, paint it with Krylon Fusion. I am redoing my headliner in black and painting all plastic parts on the roof in black. I painted half of them last weekend, have to get the others done.

If you are talking about the exterior, then you can buy the upper window and lower window trim here at MachV. Someone people have bought it cheaper at other places.

On my car all the trims and rubber around the glass on all windows have stains on them. I've used grease remover, glue remover and rubbing compound and nothing has worked. It seems like I'll have to either paint over it or get new ones and have all glass put back in again (and it will probably be very expensive).

BTW before using the Krylon Fusion I've found that if you clean the pieces with rubbing alcohol you'll get all the old armor all and junk off of them. Works much better than soap and water/sanding, and also gives them a rough to the touch feeling that helps the paint stick even better.

Fusion will melt in the sun. I tried it on my spyder, and with the top down it melts.

Well my car doesn't have a top so I don't think the plastic parts will ever see direct sunlight. Mine is taking forever to dry, maybe it's cause I have them in one of the kitchen closets.

spyder97gs - Did the paint on the plastic melt within 7 days after you painted them? It states on the can that the paint will be chip resistant in 7 days.

There's a kind of clear-coat that isn't sprayed on?

I'd say it's a bad idea. It will make everything shiny. And it won't adhere well if the paint wasn't made to be clear-coated. Shiny=reflection of light. :notgood:
