I've always wanted to have nitrous flames shootout from my exhaust pipe, how would I do that?

And

I have always wanted to be able to purge? the nitrous to shootout a stream of nitrous with a colored led, how would i do that?

If possible could someone get pictures uploaded also?

a) it's usually antilag that you are seeing when the flames are shooting out the exhaust... VERRY bad on the cat (if you still have one) but used in rally (among other things) to spool the turbo faster by retarding the timing enough to fire while the exhaust valves are open.

Another way to do this is to tune your car a hair on the rich side and put an exhaust plug in the tailpipe. Personally I wouldn't do it though.

b) buy a nitrous purge kit. There is a valid reason to do this, to get all the warm nitrous out of the lines before your run, you purge the warm nitrous so that you have a nice cool supply going into your engine while you make your run. Other than that, it's a waste of nitrous, and if you're not running in the low 10's already, you probably don't NEED it.

If you are spraying Nitrous, and flames start comming out tour tailpipe i would seriously kiss my motor good bye in all likelyhood on a 2g N/T man. Its not a good thing. Just tune rich and use a spark plug to ignite your exaust gases (and proably melt your frigging bumper off as well.) Do a search, you WILL find the plans to make it quickly as everyone seems to want to do it...

As for the second, ZEX makes a purge kit that sounds like a frigging shotgun going off and has LED's built in. Again, search and youll find it. Google is your friend.

see i'm parting out my eclipse and selling here in less than a week.

But I have nissan 240sx, and I just order a nissan skyline r33 engine (the RB25DET), has 270hp, 215 torq.

So while I have the engine out, I'm upgrading things here and there, and installing the nitrous system, 2 20lb bottles, and just needed to know what was happening when it shoots out of the muffler.

I have a straight pipe for the cat. convertor.

If nitrous is shooting out the exhaust your motor is done for. First off let's get past the fast and furious stuff and move on to what really is going on. The only way to get "cool torch flames" out an exhaust is either through a kit of running your car very rich and in either case not a good thing. You can buy propane kits that wire into your muffler to give you the "cool" flame like out of a 30.000 BTU floor heater. Which I wouldn't recommened either because sooner or later that flame will trail up into the engine and blow crap up. If you get the propane kit only use it when the car is off. It just shoots out the propane and ignite's it so it looks all fast and furious like. I really don't think that you should be going from a N/T DSM to a 240sx with a RB25DET swap but hey what do I know I just build motors and race for a living. So in answer to your question you can A) purge the nitrous into you exhaust and get an igniter for it B) get a propane kit and ignite that in your exhaust C) run really really rich and backfire a lot. All of which are going to screw up your motor beyond beleive in not time. Trust me I see it all the time with streetrodders that want the 15 foot flame dragging out of there exhaust.

Yeah I know.

One bottle will be installed to engine, the other is for purging to showing off with.

There a 98 supra in the area where I live, he has 6 20lbs bottles, all installed to the engine!!!!! Each in on a seperate switch, and different valves.

Its a nice setup also, custom brackets. Takes up the whole backseat of the supra!!!

I'll see if he will let me get a picture of it, but really doubt it though, he's really strict about letting people see whats inside the supra. There's only a few people who's seen inside it. One being a cop, to "Check" for illegal items!!

He has over $50,000 installed in it.

No he does not go to shows, once again, for private reasons.

It only has about 50,000 miles on it, WOW, Nice mileage. He bought it brand new.

It has about 1000hp, with nitrous I don't know, too much for me to handle!!!

Mine too. I think it's just gas though. 4 Enchalada's for supper last night. Can't beleive you didn't close this...odd... But it definatly gets my vote for " I drive a N/T but am going to get a SKYLINE motor, when I sell my car, and rice it out with lots of NAWZZZ thread of the year." Why in the world would you need 2 tanks. One will last long enough. And no one is stupid enough to run 6 20lb. bottles of nitrous. And 400hp on nitrous isn't "about" 1000hp. God it's been a while since I have just gone off on a rant and been a dick...does the body good.

He doesn't use all in one or two shots. He will use one until its empty, then use the second, and so on...

And that 1000hp is not while using nos, its the hp of the engine.

he has over $50K installed into the whole car, and I believe the engine has $35K by itself!

You know how many times you could go down the quarter spraying say a 100 shot on a 20 lb bottle in a 1000hp supra? You could make probably well over 15-20 passes on one bottle. That is just pointless. I believe bottles run around 150-200 or more and thats not even the fancy ones. And talk about some heavy bastards. Thats probably atleast 100 extra pounds from bottles, if they are full that is like 35 a piece or more. That means he would have to spray that 100 shot just to make up for the extra weight. Ricers with money, what can I say. I mean, my car is pretty ricey, but I must say I only have 1 nitrous bottle and it is out of sight.

No one really ever needs a purge kit. And it will give you gains no matter what ets you are running in the 1/4 mile.

Actually I had a noticeable difference in my 60ft times when I purged versus when I did not purge. It gets all the air out of the line and gets the nitrous right up there ready to go. If it didn't make a difference do you really think big dragsters would worry with it? If you don't have experience purging versus not purging, don't say it doesn't make a difference. That is false information.

Nitrous is an oxidizer which ruins the atmosphere when simply released into it. If your not doing it for racing please don't harm our environment by doing it at stupid car shows. You might as well pour some oil down the drain and release your A/C refrigerant into the atmosphere while your at it.
