I second that. I haven't found any hood that I'd swap onto my car. I like cf hoonds but on any color except black. I think I'm just going to stay stock. I was possibly thinking buying a cf hood and painting it black but I don't know if it's worth the weight reduction.

I like them because you don't see them everyday as you do carbon fiber hoods. I am not putting CF hoods down at all, I was clearly posting this as a alternative to CF. Thats all.

source1064: oftentimes you can get a fiberglass hood for a considerable cost savings to CF, and since you're going to paint it anyway.

I know that on gen2 supra's a fiberglass hood saves nearly 40lbs, and the carbon only saves 2-5 more than that. Not really worth the much higher pricetag IMO.

I'd like it if the engine bay was totally dressed up. On that black car it looks ugly and out of place unfortunately. I agree, it's a good way to get the cars parts stolen, especially with hood pins and all, but if I had a completely dressed up engine, I might have one spare in the garage for those show off days.

Note: I've seen them in blue clear, looks MUCH better. Tints yer whole engine bay blue.

Curious if they could take the heat here in AZ combined with the turbo motor? I would get one and paint it just so it would be lighter. I'm also all about CF hoods as long as they have rolled edges.

I like it, but only if my engine was supreme show condition. If you had a fixed up car with say............18 inch wheels, bodykit, Altezza taillights, fixed up custom sounds and interior and that hood, but the engine was not a perfect ten........:barf: then you would look like crap. I would like to see it on cars that have nice engines. I think it looks futuristic.
I would like to see it on 1G or 2G on a black car with black 18 inch wheels, fixed up perfect 10 engine and dark limo tint windows. That would look cool to me:cool:

I think it would be a great cheap alternative to CF.
If they had em for 1g's I'd get one and paint it my body color. If it looks stock after it's painted who'd know that you weren't supposed to be driving around with it?

i think they would look alright if you had a pretty engine bay and u had some kind of paint scheme on the hood. but other then that its not that tight

i think that last car pic you posted if #@%#@%#@%#@%ing sick, thats a show stopper right there :thumb: except i think the roll bar looks tacky..

I personally think they are hideous. As mentioned by some others I like cf hoods as well. I think the clear hoods were marketed for the civic community. :dsm:
