i have a 97 gsx, and on both doors the bottom corner near the back wheel has a tiny bit of rust on the inside. Its is staining my piant where the door meets the body.

Is there any way to get rid of the rust and keep it from comming back and staining it more?

well it depends how good at body work you are. if your skills are limited you can prob. bring it to your local body shop and have them sand it then fill it smooth it and repaint it. But alot of times its the climate u live in that causes rust. If u live near salt water or if theres alot of snow your car will typically rust faster than most others. I know on my eclipse theres a spray coating at the very bottom of the car. (kind of like rhino liner but not black) Its sprayed in the factory and goes under the side clips and on the bottom of the door. Maybe yours wasnt sprayed or its come off. Ask your local body shop about that and maybe they could hook you up.

CLR, bondo, rust stoper/remover(call or go to home depot), and some kind of primer maybe.......any of these should work.....also some are guini rigged solutions but they work. If you dont want to just ask your locla body shop and Im sure you can pick it up and do it yourself. Most of the time you just need bondo and a sander.

if it is surface rust, then just take some sand paper to it and remove the rusted spot. then get some touch up paint. if it is RUSTED...then you will need a grinder with a sandpaper wheel and get into the metal till you remove all the rust. then primer and paint.
