Hey everyone...just thought I would share what I did yesterday with you all. I have never heard or seen anyone do this so I decided to do it....I got tired of the green turning signals on my dash...because they didnt match everything else...So I changed them to blue last night...they actually look more blue in person....thinking about making them a little darker too...tell me what you think.. I am also thinking of changing or trying to change all the red lights in my dash (door open light, etc..) to blue...

It's good that you did something fairly original but that whole setup looks very distracting.

agreed, definately unique but a little too bright/crazy looking for me

Now you've gotta do what I'm doing this weekend.. get the odometer & tripmeter lighted blue. :)
The easy way is to order two $4 3-set blue LED lights at www.so-trickcomputers.com - they use a 12v power wire & ground. Use two sided tape to mount to the back clear plastic of the tach & wire into illumination. Easy, cheap, no soldering required.

thanx for the compliments and such...yeah about the odometer and tripometer lights...i just ordered 50 3mm 5000mcd led's off of ebay for only $10...so when those come in...I can guarantee I will do that...along with any other lights that may be orange that dont need to be that color...

I really don't know how you guys do it, I flip out whenever I see my air/fuel guage turn red with my high beams on. ANY combination of blue/red on my dash makes me think there's a cop behind me.

Looks awesome though :thumb:

so all you did is replace leds? Because i want to change my gauge color to white or red to match the gauges i will be getting later on.

thanx again for the compliments...i didnt change the led's at all..their still the same ol color as they used to be...i will change it later when i get my led's in from ebay..i just basically replaced one thing...here take a look at this pic (this is not my gauge cluster it is from the tech guide area here) take a look at this pic and you will see what you basically have to change...

all I did was take the green pieces out and put blue transparent plastic in place of it...bought them from target for 1 dollar each..they were envelopes...then put it all back together and voila...I could write a nice little tech article if yall want me to?

p.s. I am going to start working on a custom panel for the door ajar light and so forth...gotta change them to blue and theres no other way but to make a custom panel...

I changed out all the lights on my cluster to red. I just pulled the green caps for the signals and put gel caps over the light bulbs so they weren't too bright. I couldn't find any plastic film to put over the holes so they're just open. Nicely done though!

oh if anyone happens to know how these things are made (circled in picture) please tell me...i would love to hear what people think about this...when i say made...i mean...are they layered pieces or just one piece? because if you look at it closely it looks like they are layered...take one out and look at the back of it and you will understand what im saying..

I did the same thing in mine with all the guages. Instead of going through all of the hassle of putting in led's and resistors I just used two layers of blue cellophane. I cut them to the same size as the actual guage and then put them behind, put the guages back on and I was done. I didn't put any of the blue behind the red numbers and markings because I still wanted them to be red. (I did all of this after I sanded all of the orange off of the backs) The blue came out just the right color for me anyways. I guess you could use 1 or more layers to adjust the color to your liking also. Doing this allowed me to keep the dash looking stock since I cant stand any of the white face guages that are on the market.
