Tip for everyone painting their GSX wheels

Use sheets of paper (computer/printer paper) in between the lip and center piece. Overlap them and spray away. I had no overspray at all on the lip or tires. Be sure to clean the wheel good before painting. I had all four wheels done in less than an hour and they came out awesome. This method beats the hell out of using masking tape. Heres a few pics of what I'm talking about. Sorry about the crappy pics my camera phone sucks.

That's handy, I'd use cardboard or something a tad bit thicker just in case the paint soaks the paper too much.

It really shouldnt soak through the paper unless you are really spraying hard right on it.

I had no problems with it soaking through at all. You could always double up the paper if your worried about it.

or just use a thicker stock, or poster board?

i put masking tape in there, and then duct tape over it to catch the tire, never thought of that, kind of an obstruction i think, can't really work at an angle if you need to.... just my thoughts...clever idea though

i did do something similar to that though when i was using paint stripped on my lip, had a few bad spots so i didn't want to take the paint off of my wheel, i used a newspaper and ran it along in there.. i did this the very first time i painted my wheels and they didn't turn out so hot..

Playing cards, use playing cards. , it looks like the paper worked pretty good too.
