Ok here's my situation. I got a 95 GSX lying in my garage (it is crashed from the rear wheel, passenger side.) I do not want to get rid of the internals, everithing is fine. I want to know if i HAVE TO buy a GSX shell to swap everything inside, including my good 4G63 engine, or can i buy maybe a GS, RS, or a talon shell. Are the engine mounts gonna give me problems. And what about the tranny and driveshaft. As you know GSX's are harder to come by than the other cheaper models, and what's a good price to pay for a shell?

Your help is greatly appreciated. i only have "yep, another honda" friends and they know jack when it comes to

WTF are you talking about? He didn't mention anything about a RWD conversion.
You will need another car that came with a Mitsu engine in it to swap your drivetrain into.
For example: GST or GSX, talon TSI. An eclipse GS or RS will not work. If you keep the AWD parts, it will need to go into an AWD shell, or you can spend a bit of cash to make it work in a FWD shell I suppose.

or buy a gst/tsi fwd with a blown engine but good trans, then put your engine in there and go.

Dont waste your time trying to put your parts in a rs/gs/es, it would be easier to find an awd

Yeah, been there. Drive train conversion is SO expensive. And swapping from n/t to turbo motor costs even more. I was gonna do this swap in a 2g. I'm instead selling my rs and looking for an awd as well.

I am taking the motor of my 90 fwd laser and putting it in my awd 93 eclipse. I no I have to swap oil pans from the awd to the fwd motor to clear the transfer case. Is the fwd oil pan the same as an awd oil pan.

Theres a nice looking 95 gsx for 1000 obo on craigslist. The motor blew but everything else is fine.
