I can't tell if it's just a lip, or a full front end undertray. It would be better to go with the latter. I've dabbled in flattening out the bottoms of our cars, it helps quite a bit, but I haven't found anything that is both cheap and durable enough for daily road use.

The lip will provide downforce, the undertray will provide downforce and reduce drag. Look up Bernoulli's principle sometime.

you guys know where to find these lips? I've been searching and coming up empty.

Typically they are called diffusers, or canards<--I think, I know they have. The ones they sell like that just slip right under the bumperand bolt on. But if its not on a fornulka car, its just for looks like any other body mod.

easy cheap fast way to find one is make it your self. you buy a sheet of carbonfiber from ebay or local shop. then make a template cut it to how you like buy the lil adjusters. and bolt it on i know a few vw guys that did it and it cam out looking realy nice

ps make shure the carbon fiber you buy isnt to skinny and dont have dubble sided tape on the back of it i hope this help i might be able to get a hold of some of the vw ppl if needed
your also looking at around 100$ alone for a good sheet of carbon fiber

good luck

They are neither Diffusers, which help to calm air that flows through them (typically the rear underside of the vehicle,) or canards, which are winglets attached at various points on a vehicle for extra downforce.

Also, they are on formula cars. It's just a different, not to mention much more efficient, design. They have to have a flat bottom to meet regulations, they achieve this by using an undertray which goes from about the cockpit to the rear diffuser of the vehicle.

I don't get the turnbuckle idea. Particularly when they're "anchored" to a part more flexible than the part they're supposed to be "reinforcing".
Ah, but I did dumb things when I was a kid, too. Like..... no, waitaminute. No, I didn't

Anyway, it's called a "lip" or "front spoiler". Big thread about them here:

Trouble is that not only are they fragile, but they're out there at just the right place to remind you that driveway had too big a dip, and ohshit, there's that parking kerb. :|
