driving me crazy!! vis hood guys help me out

prior to getting my car, i told every one that i was getting the vis evo hood..but when i finally got the car, i fell in love with the hump! i dont know why, but i just did. now im stuck between the evo and the oem. i know ppl are going to most likely say oem, but from the guys with the evo, do you wish you would have stuck with the oem? and vice versa? and also how hard is it to install hood pins? thanx guys!

Look in may gallery. i have a VIS CF OEM style hood and i love it. I could gotten a different hood style for the same price but damn, one of the things i loved about eclipses is the power hump.

I also have an OEM style, and although it has a crack in it, I plan on buying yet another OEM style.

Hood pins are easy. GO to www.vfaq.com under miscellaneous.

I've never been a fan of the hump - I just don't like that it's styled in such a way as to imply that it's there for a reason, yet it's not. Are there any aftermarket hoods that are just flat, no hump? I read somewhere that the hump was used to indicate that the DOHC 4G63 is below - does this mean that the SOHC cars don't have the "power hump"? I'm having a heck of a time finding any photos to support this.

On the 2G it is there to compensate for the timing belt cover. I prefer to run the timing belt cover myself. So on the 2G it is there for a reason.

I'm still looking for a timing belt cover for mine, so I don't know how much additional vertical clearance it needs - it's probably the same situation though - rats!
