What's up guys? My car is a 91 talon tsi, and when I got it I noticed that the stock radio harness was already hacked up. Needless to say, I have had no radio to listen to. Well, I finally bought an aftermarket cd player. I hooked up all the wires, soldered them, and wrapped them up. Now, the problem I'm having is that when I turn up my radio volume to about 14 and over ( it goes up to 30), the entire unit shuts itself off, and turns back on repeatedly until I turn the volume back down below 14. When I first noticed it, my interior dash lights went out with the head unit. Now, just the head unit does it. It also doesn't keep any of my settings. Please help, I need my music.

I also noticed that now, my seat belt doesn't go down when I take my key out of the ignition, and I can't lock my locks anymore from the inside. I have to shut my door and use the key to lock the doors. If anyone has any ideas as to what these two problems could indicate and possibly how to fix them please let me know. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks guys.

well on the radio cuttin out problem it may be a bad ground prob... the factory one on a 2g anyway uses its mounts as a ground also u might try running a good seperate ground to the body of the car and see if this helps :thumb:

Thanks man, Right now, I have the ground hooked up to the ground that comes out of the harness. I'll pull it apart, and ground it straight to the chassis and see if that helps. Does anyone have any ideas on the seatbelt not moving when the key is taken out of the ignition or not being able to lock the doors unless you shut the door and use the key? Could it be a door chime relay/solenoid or something to that effect? It worked fine when I got the car about 2 months ago, but just stopped working for some reason. Thanks guys for your help. Later.

it sounds like you might be using the illumination wire as a ground. Gound the radio to the inside of the dash where its metal. Just make sure you don't drill through anything. :rocks: I like this new little wal mart guy with the guitar. :thumb:
