Body done, need a brand of paint....

Ah! Body work is finnaly done!

My laser is currently black right now. The body guy wants to know what kind of paint I want to go with. I asked him whats the best and he told be to check out "House of Kolor"

I read some other topics on the board here and it seems that if i do not have a good BASE it doesnt matter what kind of paint is on top, it wont last.

Therefore, I want my paint job to last a long time. What primer do i need?, (do i really need any?)

What is a few good brand to look at?

Should i so with a "differnt black? Metallic? Pearlized?-

i would highly recomend good paint. my paint is PPG...? im pretty sure thats what it was called, a good company nonetheless. dependind on what you are painting, primer is not "needed" if prep work is done coreectly, but i would recomend priming it. as for colors, if you want to go with black, just do a real deep and glossy black. i forget how exactly to get the "deep" look, but ask any painter and he can tell you.

ppg, dupont, house of kolor. For primer use a two part urethane primer, evercoat is pretty good.

Using a dark primer, will darken the paint color, so if you want a very bright, high gloss, black, use a white primer, if you want a sutle black, still gloss, but deeper, use a gray primer. I think i got that right. I know the more coats of paint, the darker and richer the paint is, such as painting candy...
