painting q's ???

anyone have knowledge of painting a car? My 91 is in decent shape but the hood and roof have grayish white blotches on them (car is black). I was thinking of trying to paint the hood and roof myself but dont know the correct process. I have a pretty good understanding and car knowledge and know im not going to do a perfect job. I just need something to hold me over for about a year or so til i have the funds to get whole car repainted. So basically I need to know like what grit sand paper and how much do to what and all that good stuff.

Your paint is starting to oxidize (I have the same issue). I would reccomend not even wasting a penny on a temp fix, just put that towards a decent job. Of course you could always get a cheap one done at MAACO if your really wanting a temp fix. They start at 250 or something. Otherwise, its just not worth it IMHO.
