help with gauges!!!!

hello, I'm busy with completely rebuilding my dash and center console, I'm planning on removing the stock speedometer and everything else, I've allready removed my complete dash, behind the speedometer you have 3 major electrical constact that clicks on your original speedometer (you understand) but here comes the question, is it possible to remove the whole thing and replace the RPM meter, Speedometer and the rest by gauges from AUTOMETER ??? and how???

It is possible..your just going to have to attain the complete wiring diagram for the dash and it's components...when you order your autometer guages it will tell you what wire will go where...just match them with the diagram and your all set...although you might need to make a custom housing to hold the guages as the stock ones might be a different size...hope i was of some help...

You'll also need to know what manner of signal the ECU is sending the stock gauges, and how to translate those for the Autometer. I have no idea if this part will be a challenge on its own. Oil pressure, oil temp (if used), water temp, and vac/boost will be pretty much their own set of senders and not related to the DSM stuff, but speedo and tach will have to be figured out. Tachs are meant for aftermarket, that should be okay, so that leaves the speedo. And, you may have some fiddling with the nefarious DSM fuel senders, but those are pretty simple as well.

I'd expect someone from Autometer should be able to help through either email or by phone.

I just completed my collection of Autometer gauges - Speedometer, Tach, Oil Press, Oil Temp, Water Temp, Voltage, A/F, Boost, & Nitrous Press. Need to get fuel level from Dakota Digital (It works with our stock senders). I am building a custom gauge housing to replace the factory one. You can't just mount them onto the stock piece because it isn't deep enough. Moving all the idiot lights and turn signal lights is a real PITA.
