This is one of my friends work. Ive known him for a little while, he bought a parts car off me and ive been helping him with his dsm's for a little while. He does body work and stuff with his friend and just started messing around with the idea of a one peice 1ga hood.

The idea is to eliminate the popups and have the lights shine straight through the lenses..

If you guys are interested i know hes going to work on some for our local guys that are members on our site.. i dont know if he will do them for other people but i could always ask..

Anyway heres the pictures..

Its his first one and he said its kinda rough .. he said theres still alot of work hes going to do to it to clean it up but he said it looks real good up close.

Hope everyone likes it..

aww he got rid of one of the best things about the 1g's. It's a nice clean job and it does have a custom look but I would DIE to have a 1ga instead of my 1gb. I think the 1ga with sleepy eyes are :thumb: but he did a nice job I'll give him that.

It isn't the first time i've seen it but cool none the less. It actually doesn't look all that great on a stock looking car. It makes it look sleaker on a car that looks old. Now on a clean car with some nice rims, it looks awsome.

Like i said .. he does a lot of body work .. and painting. He didnt do it to the talon to make it look nice .. he did it because he can. And he sparked some interest for the guys that meet with us locally. It also helps show some of the stuff he can do .. ect ect.

His car will be repainted and lowered with wheels by spring .. this is actually his beater .. his primary car is his Scooby.. He does alot of stuff like this for fun in his spare time.

looks great.sort of reminds me of an s13.id never do it to mine, but it looks nice and sleek. :thumb:

Personally I like the idea, but I was curious how bright it shines at night? I know you can clear your lenses and make it brighter or what not, but does it compare to a stock setup in visibility? REALLY like the look. Props to him for the body work. have to be really careful on a hood not to warp it. Good Job!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

It looks good and all but I love 1Ga's because of the pop-up lights. It is pretty sleek looking though. I used to have my lights stuck on down but its kind of hard to see without them popping up, especially in the rain at night.

Hes going to paint that one soon .. when he does his whole car .. Then hes thinking of doing a carbon fiber mold cause his father works with carbon fiber and makes alot of stuff for him.

did anyone notice the random old guy sitting in a chair in the middle of a parking lot?

its an old man in a wheel chair walking his dog, smart guy  and i dont see how this pertains to the thread at all? :shhh:

I've been wanting to do this myself.
I was thinking of removing that section in front of the headlights, and moving them up.

It totally depends on ho bright/clear the headlight get.
No way I want a dim headlight.

well it is going to be painted soon... the guy in the wheelchair is a little cooky..
anywho, i just did this cause i think it looks good, and i got the ebay headlight conversion and it is hella bright... maybe i can get a pic of it...

WELL ITS NICE THAT you have an opinion, but most people hate pop ups.. thats why companies spend time and money to make headlight conversions that almost always look way better than pop ups... but everyone has their opinions, and remember i bought this car for $900 and i did this for free...

Which oldsmobile lights are you talking about? Ive never heard of anyone doing it with oldsmobile lights .. but thats not to say it hasnt been done ..

The (or Pontiac or Buick or some stinking GM) used some little dinky headlights in the mid-eighties instead of anything normal.
