1ga Headlight Q.
I know theres been alot of threads about this, but i can't find one that has what i'm looking for. well, anyway, my head light went out and instead of getting some more of the sealed halogen ones i want to buy a cheap conversoin kit of ebay. something like this But, i want to know if anyone has experience with something like these, because if they are just a waste of time and money i won't bother getting them. any imput on instalation to final result will be appreciated. thanks.

I'd stay away fromt he cheap stuff and get something with a well known name. I've heard some good reviews on This kit matched with H4 bulbs. I'll be picking up a set soon myself.

The Hellas are excellent lights, but even the cheap-os will be astoundingly better than sealed beams. If the cost is an issue, don't shy away from the eBay units. Also, check for the same reflector unit being sold for other vehicles- I've seen them for less than that. It's just a universal bulb housing, nothing specific to DSMs.

i thought i read on some other thread that you have to rewire them or something? I don't really want to do that. so, if you have to with the hella's or the ebay ones let me know.
Also i plan on getting some off ebay, but are we 165 MM headlamps? and which kind of bulb would you recomend?

Not much of a job. You may have to change plugs from |_| to |_/ or get an adapter (as in the Hella kit) from PepBoys.

Hmm, I really like that first one you psted, however it says 4" x 6.5" and the other one says 4" x 6"
Defiant - Can we make the first one fit?

Out of those I'd go with the Hellas.
Blue bulbs are excellent for shooting at with air rifles. I'd never put any in a car. Not even in the glovebox to drive them home.

I think that's just a matter of where they're measuring the same size. There isn't that much difference in old sealed-beam bulb sizes. Those are probably the same.

search ebay. i got mine for like 40 shipped( i think 38) and thats for both. i had to spend like 3 dollars on addapters, but i had to splice into my old wires because it wasn't an adapter to actaully plug into the other one but just to fit the different lights... and for the 1ga i think pretty much all you need is 165mm headlamp to headlight conversion.
