Boston,
Hello All,

I could use some help. I have a 95 GSX with the Infinity Head Unit and 10 Disc Changer in the trunk (pictured below). I bought the changer off EBay and it has power and is connected to the Head-Unit through the control cable. I know it is powered up...magazine ejects no problem.

Unfortunately, the Head-Unit doesn't seem to realize that the changer is there. With a CD in the changer and no CD in the Dash player...I hit the CD button on the Head-Unit and it just gives me an error saying no CD.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bryan

My best friend has the exact same problem, So if anyone has any input I would like to know about it also.

Thanks

You do have the DIN cable hooked up between the changer and the head? And the one between the head and the amplifier?

Are you trying pre-recorded CDs or burned? The changer won't read MP3 files (dammit), and it can be fussy about burned ones.

When you put a loaded cart into the changer, does it cycle through the stack?

Yes, I have the cable between the Changer and the Head-unit plugged in, and I have the cable between the Amp and the Head-unit plugged in as well.

The CD I was using to test was a regular CD not a burned one, and I had placed in slot 10 and slot 1.

When I put the cartridge in the changer, it does cycle through all 10 slots to see what is there...I didn't try it full of 10 cds, but I will today.

Based on the picture...do I have the correct changer for this Head-unit?

Thanks,
Bryan

Looks like the right one...

Did you try resetting the changer? I had to do that with a jvc deck/changer and also a kenwood one when i added the changer. I disconnected the battery and reset the changer, and all is well. I think you hold down the eject button on the changer for a few seconds to reset it.
