Hey guys,

I was wondering what everyone thinks about underglow. What is the general opinion? Does it look nice, would you guys do it if you had the money and didn't need any performance mods? What else would you think about buying first before you purchased an underglow set?

I am thinking about buying a kit, not necessarily the next thing I will spend my money on though. Does anyone have a kit on their DSM? Photos or recommendations on which brand to spend the money on? Do they break easily?

Just want your opinions and feedback.... Whatcha think?

-Joe

It looked nice back in 93-94'

j/k......i think it looks nice and all, but its not my style. There is alot of people that like it. I think streetglow is probably the best ones, i had them on my IROC about 5 years ago and they were pretty bright and never had any problems with them.

my 135 dollar ticket says they attract attention. Never drive in cop infested areas with them and never mount the switch where your knee can hit it.

I drove with tthem on all the time, never got pulled over. U of D had a game , which means pork was out in full force (im sure LarryD can back me up on that), I hit the switch and BAM, cherries on behind me.

Didnt fight the ticket cause I had them on lots of times and DIDNT get pulled over.

Im surprised silver doesnt have them, thought you were the god of rice ;)

imo, most "show" mods look like @ss on the 1g's. plus, it's actually illegal in most areas...guess it depends on how strict the pigs are in your area tho. personally, i wouldn't take the chance of a heavy fine for "neon lights"....if you know what i mean. save your money, there's better things to waste it on.

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it. I know that there are tons of other things to spend money on, and those will all most likely come before underglow. Especially the performance mods. I may also have a friend that would let me "try" a set of his own lights, just to see if I like the effect of it on my 1G...

Any other comments, etc. are still welcome. No pics yet either, huh? There have to be some out there...

i don't know about 'trying' them on your car...it took me sometime to get mine on....after all the crap i had to go though...

putting them on was (personally) a pain....so i can imagine all the crap you'd go though and think to yourself, "damn...i'm only borrowing these thing!!!?!?!"

i think they're okay...whatever is your style...just don't act like a 'bad ass' and think your car goes faster by having those lights on. :p

yeah...if you're going to go to import showdowns that'll be a good thing.

Don't worry man, I'm not like that. My car is really nice, compared to most other non-DSMs, but I know that most of the cars on this site are a LOT nicer than mine. I am definately not one of those people who acts like a 'bad-a$$' when I know I am not. Anyway, thanks for the advice. The lights would look nice, but I think I've changed my mind for now. Lots of other things to spend my money on anyways... ;)

With the underbody neon check with your local police about laws on it. Over here having certain colors or driving with them on is illegal.
