CD/MP3 player... of death???

Can anyone say this is a good or bad reciever? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2606841

I am looking at it for price, but if it absolutely sucks, than I'd rather just piss on it and pass it by. Can anyone find it on another site with maybe some better specs on it too?

"a bonus feature" for a removable face plate? my grandma's faceplate comes off...i woudnt get it dude, i wouldnt trust putting my cd's in it.

well see... i got a walmart card for christmas... i can put 40 bux up on the one from walmart, hence why i was looking at walmart... Plus, the one you showed me for only 100 only plays cd's this one plays cd's and mp3's...

Go get some windshield wiper fluid or some octane booster from Wal-Mart. It'll serve you better than that reciever.

If you have aftermarket speakers or even care a little about sound quality you wont get it. We have a best buy made reciever that we sold for 70 bucks called dynex. Works great and havent had many returns on it, but it sounds like shit.

You can get an Aiwa MP3 deck at best buy for like $120... Made by Sony.

I have one, I like it alot.

If your shopping for one at WalMart.. get a JVC. They put out good quality head units, and you can also see the display in the daylight with the sun shining.. unlike alot of units.

I'd be careful about those offbrand CD players. A $20-$40 price difference is worth going with a better brand. My friend had one of those offbrand CD/MP3 players in her car and the MP3 kept getting errors, and the CD player would skip over any little bump in the road. It would even skip when she started up the car. Save that Walmart card for buying oil...they have mobil 1 in 5qt jugs for cheap

Edit: I just remembered that our local Walmart stocks good Pioneer and Awia units. They also have Sony and Pioneer speakers as well. Prices were better than Best Buy & Circuit city, but they only have the lower 2 or 3 models. I believe they had MP3 capability as well.

I've got one of the Durabrand CD/MP3 players you linked at the top of the thread. It's not a bad unit. Sure, a Pioneer or Sony unit would kick it's ass, but hey, it's a sub-$100 unit. I say go for it, I've not had any problems out of mine.

yeah, i like that its cheap... plays mp3's and cd's... and radio... and I have a full earthquake system in my car... So if someone knows of a good radio that would sound amazing with my earthquakes... please tell me.

Looks like a JVC knockoff, I would avoid it at all costs and go with a reliable brand (which does not include Sony).

My girlfriend and her sister each had one of those in their cars. They got them from Walmart because they were 'cheap'. And they were fine except for everytime you hit any tiny bump. They literally skipped on average of 3 times per minute (no exageration). It got so annoying, that they both sold them and got Kenwoods. Best Buy does have nice CD players for $100. That's what I'd recommend getting.

I already bought it, I got no problems... The things fine... I just gotta set the eq up right for my speakers.
