new paint scheme, opinions

I am really tired of the black and the 19's are slowing me down. I got the idea for my paint scheme from this jdm mirage I saw in a modified mag. I'm going to paint my car white with a black roof like a talon. Keep my carbon hood black, and put my carbon rmdsm lip on after it gets painted. Also i have the carbon adr mirrors. Hopefully when someone buys my 19''s I'm going to buy a set of red rota gt3's with the polished lip which are gab sport rip offs. heres the pic of the mirage tell me what you think about the same scheme and wheels on my car.

Also the interior will have red recaros, candy blue rollcage candy blue nitrous bottle, my blue cobalt gauges and everything else in the interior black...

I'm also selling my 19's for $1000... ah the shameless plug.

Oh man, haha when I first read the "modified mag" part in your post, I thought you meant this car.

As for the scheme, it's different. I don't think it'd look that bad, but it's one of those schemes that will grow on you IMO.

i think it looks awesome. that will look great on your car... pics of the rims??? i have a few more suggestions, a carbon hatch, the carbon wangan spoiler (however its spelled) and leaving the door jambs, undertrunk, and underhood black (it would go nice with the two color scheme.) good luck, cant wait to see it done... two color works great on DSM's...

Why reD and blue, I hate that, looks too patriotic to me. I like sticking w/ a single color scheme. When people pick more than a single color it looks like they did two half-assed jobs and without completely finishing either. Please think about it because the rest of the way your scheme is set up will look perfect. Dont forget to paint your center tail.

Yea, Red rims would be hard to get used to for me. But everything else is cool. I also wanted to do a two tone Talon style paint on my 2g.

That car is terrible. I am no feelin the wheels, and I must agree, blue/red = too patriotic, just as red/yellow = too McDonald's. But yah, the pic the dude posted with the black wheels looks aright though.

I think its funny how lots of the talon guys want to get rid of the two tone, and now eclipse guys are wanting it. Just goes to show that we want what we can't have

Except for the rims, I think it would look pretty good. That red is just a bit to jarring from an otherwise smooth car.

Personally, I wouldn't get red rims, I'd go Bronze/Gold Rims with the White/Black scheme.

Just my opinion.

That's what I was going for... a "JDM" look...


But I threw that idea out of the freakin' window . I am doing the all the same but i am painting the center of the wheels flat black...

sorry for digging up a slightly old post, but what the hell is JDM... wasn't the only thing different about a USDM and "JDM" car the tail lights? Correct me if I'm wrong but I THINK that was the only difference, and do you think that in japan there's a bunch of ppl trying to get that "USMD" look.... Just curious... Also... This is not to start a falme war, just trying to become more informed... Thanks

he's not saying "JDM Eclipse" specifically, as that would only involve changing the taillights and driver side, but "JDM Style" which would involve using paint schemes / parts / exterior styling or otherwise styling borrowed from cars normally found in japanland.

IE, red wheels on a white car, carbon fiber accents, lisence plates with japanland symbols, bride seats, takata harnesses, HIDs, JDM badges, volk wheels and lugnuts, C-west kits, etc etc etc and the other thousand million JDM trends like putting $35 air fresheners on your dashboard because they came from japan and smell like feminine hiegine products, and asian girls in school-girl uniforms constantly accompanying your vehicle to parkinglots and carshows, etc etc.

I hate my black talon roof. When my car gets painted, you can bet that'll be painted, too. As for the JDM.... I wouldn't mind having a car right-hand drive... that would be a lil nuts.... and i definitelyw ouldn't mind asian girls accompanying me all the time.
