i assume this is the right place to put this,

ever since i bought my car,the front lip has irritated me.its slightly warped, and has yellow showing through where it has rubbed many curbs in its 14 years.so yesterday i was going to take it off and at least paint it.needless to say the first bolt i tried taking off broke.so i stopped in case more broke and i was left lipless.i eventually just taped it off and painted it black.it looks ok,but now i have a nice black yet still warped lip.are stock lips available?i dont want anything fancy like carbon fiber,or some outlandishly huge lip.i guess it would be the lip,its the black trim under the front fascia on a 1st gen.id assume any junkyard peices would be just as warped with just as brittle bolts?

well in a junkyard you could find one, but most 1gs seem to have smashed front bumpers. i dont think it would be that hard to find an unwarped one in a junkyard...atleast its not around here. also the bolts breaking doesnt matter that much on the car in the junkyard, you just want the lip, not the bolts. if alot of yours break off, you can get some new ones (they are all either 10 or 12 mm bolts and arent very long) you could even probably get a pile of them off dsm trader pretty easy.
on my car after breaking almost every bolt, we drilled them out and used standard size self tapping screws/bolts to hold the bumper on. they were slightly larger than the hole originally there, and since they are self tapping, they threaded themselves in very nicely.

sounds like my interrior, i messed up 2 bolts in there... went to gilbertsville auto supply, got 2 self tappers that were slightly bigger... put them in... nice fit... good and snug...

They are either 6 or 8mm. 10mm head is usually a 6mm bolt and 12mm head is usually an 8mm bolt

ill check the junk district and see what i can find.i assumed the warped lip was just something they all did,as it seems all the ones ive seen driving around whose body isnt in immaculate condition seems to have the warped lip look mine currently has.thanks alot
