Salmon Arm,
pen exploded in my pants, ink all over seat, is there any good ways off getting off? non leather seats....

Ooof, nasty one. Try a janitor's supply, they'll have the best access and best advice. The old Quick-'N-Brite from the infommercials used to work really well on ink, just like on TV, but I don't know where you'd find some these days. It'll also matter what kind of ink, whether rollerball, ballpoint, gel, felt, fountain or whatever.

From: http://www.stainmaster.com/stainmaster/carpet-care/stain_removal_guide_index.jsp

Follow these instructions to remove: Ink

1) Scoop up and blot as much of the spill as possible. Vacuum up any dry particles.
2) Prepare suggested cleaning solutions below, beginning with the first one listed.
3) Pretest the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous spot of carpet to ensure it does not discolor or damage the carpet.
4) Apply the cleaning solution to the stain area. Note exception: Do not apply dry cleaning fluid directly to carpet. Apply first to cloth and use cloth to apply to carpet. Work from the outside of the stain toward the center.
5) Allow the cleaning solution to remain on the spill for at least five minutes.
6) Blot with a clean white cloth until no more stain transfers to the cloth. Do not rub the stain area or you might damage the carpet fibers.
7) Rinse with cold water. Be sure all cleaning solution is removed from carpet.
8) If you can still see the stain, repeat the process until either the stain is removed or the stain no longer transfers to the cloth.
9) If the stain remains, try the next solution on the list and follow the same protocol above. If the stain persists after trying each solution listed, contact a professional cleaner.
10) Once the stain is removed, place layers of white paper towel on the site to absorb any moisture. Weight down the towels with a non-staining glass or ceramic object. You can let them sit overnight.
11) When the carpet is dry, vacuum to restore the texture.

Cleaning Solutions for Ink

* Use non-flammable dry cleaning fluid or a liquid spot remover from the grocery store or hardware store.

Detergent Solution

* Mix 1/4 teaspoon mild liquid dish soap with one cup warm water.

i've always used 'spray and wash' on the interiors of my cars...it works surprisingly well and was able to lift red lipstick, yellow curry, and crab-apple stains out of light grey upholstry...

it's definitely worth a try if you have some sitting near your washer and dryer...good luck...

You're going to think I'm kidding, but I'm one-hundred percent serious. Get a damp moist towel. Spray the seat with hairspray. Blot up the stain. After a few times of spraying and blotting, you'll notice it disappear. Hairspray has components that are dually soluble in water and ink.

P.s. it has to be an alcohol based hair spray

I seem like the spokesman for this stuff... but go to pretty much any hardware store or place that sells paint... this stuff works for getting off bugs, tar, removing gum, grease, ink, etc. from fabrics, and it's clear coat safe. It comes in a white can or a spray bottle and it's called OOPS. Wal-Mart has it where they sell the paint and stuff. I haven't found anything this stuff didn't remove from some type of material.
It has removed decal residue, rubber marks from where bumpers have hit peoples' cars, grease/oil stains from carpet, etc.

They need to make a sticky thread about OOPS so people can stop asking what to use for a mess. :thumb:

U was going to say the same thing....if it cleans red kool aid out of white carpet it'll tkae anything out.
Also go to walmart in the detergent area or the fabric dye area(same area I belive) They have these little yellow bottles made for that sort of thing. The ink remover really works and costs about 2 bucks. They also have crayon remover incase you have two little children who love to forget crayons in their pants and it gets washed then dryed jacks up the laundry.....sorry thats my brats i mean kids
