Well, now that I just bought this car, and transferred my soundsystem and have the alarm going in soon, it's time to start saving up for rims (will purchase after winter).

I'm going to go with white 17s, wrapped in some low-profiles, maybe ventus, not sure yet.

Anyways, I'm looking for suggestions for white 17" rims that will look good on a red 2g. Pics and locations of pics would be nice, I am willing to pay about 1200ish for rims + tires.

He said 1200 for rims and tires.

Not 1700 just for rims.

I've seen lots of red cars with white rims and they look nice imo. My friends got ADRs on his car (I think Tensions), and they look sweet. I plan on keeping a red and white color scheme throughout the car

If you don't like white rims, then what else would you recommend? I want something where when people see my rims they go, hey nice rims. I don't want them to blend into the rest of the car, I want them to stand out.

17x7 motegi mr7 are awesome rims:thumb:

You can pick up a set of 4 on ebay for less then $500

they have the colors:white, silver, chrome and gunmetal.:)

the ones in my siq are photochopped on there

hrmm.. I wonder what white will look like on a red eclipse...

::doesn't feel like loading the gimp::

Anybody who wants to PS it and send me the pic. Those are pretty sweet, I was kinda of looking at either something like that or maybe something like enkei zenkeis.

Yah see, I like that look (though those rims don't do too much for me)

Now you people understand kind of what I'm looking for.

ehh, I really wanna do white rims.

Maybe it'd be better if people recommended brands to look at, then I can go from that.

Also, if I'm going with 17s, what size tires am I going to want? I want to stay as low profile as possible, like 30 or 35 would be nice (though 30 might not have as much tread life as I'd like). And what about 18s.

I think that 17's are too small for an Eclipse you will find if you drop it that your wheel wells look huge in compairson to your wheels. This comeing from me <stock rs rims> But i will have 18" Nippon GTX Tbone 10's, next summer for $639 and 500 to spend on the rubbers. check them out on www.asylumms.com. :dsm:

Kamakazy59 is right.....I put 18" x 8"s on mine and there was still so much gap in the wells you almost couldn't tell I went up 2" in wheel size......I dropped mine 2" afterwards, looks so much better now......go for the 18"s...

yeah 17inch rims are to small do what i did and get 24's;)

The cheapest best looking white wheels I've seen are the Rota Subzeros, they are on sale at http://www.machv.com/rotasubzero.html
for $169 (17x7.5) or $199 (18x7.5) and they're really light.

As far as rubber, I can't imagine going with less than a 40 sidewall for everyday driving.

I was thinking possibly going with 35 for sidewalls, but for sure no more than that. My friend has 40 for sidewalls and it looks pretty good, so I'll probably just go with that.

The only problem w/ those is that they weigh more than a van full of fat chicks. I think the 17's weigh in at over 23 lbs., which I WAY too much for a 17" wheel. Plus, Pep Boys carries em', not a good sign.

These have much better prices on Rota wheels than Mach V too.
