Yesterday I got into my car in the morning and it smelt like something had died in it. I don't eat food in it so I knew it wasn't something rotting. I looked under my passanger seat and found a broken water bottle someone had left in there. My carpet underneath the passanger side is completely soaked. I tried to get up as much water as possible but it is still very wet. I think I am going to have to take out the seat today and run some hair dryers. Has this happened to anyone before? Will the mold go away? Cleaning supplies? Help!

Diluted bleach kills mold though it will probably discolor the carpet. I would just replace the carpet. Drying won't do much I don't think.

you wanna talk stank check this out 3 nights ago my gf left my 300z unlocked well durning the cold night a freakin BUM slept in my car WTF a bum you say YES A BUM!!!

now the car smells like complete ass ive used like freaking 2 bottles of fabreese and it still smells like fabreese and BUM.. to boot its raining so i cant really do anything about it. oh in trying to sell the car too so its a great selling point. a guy sit;s in it and goes WhOWW whats the smell.. im like uh. i donno. its alwasy been like that.. WTF NOW COMMON.

my rant.

I have heard that if you put a glass of vinager in your car overnight, it will absorb all the smell. It should be almost black. I haven't tried it however. Your car will obviously reak of vinager for alittle bit but after the smell is gone you can spay something that smells good and it should take the bad smells out. I personally smoke in my talon and i use apples. It works well and smells good. I just chop two up and place them around the car.

those Dr scholls shoe smell absorbing inserts work awesome to get smell out....give it a try, let them sit in there over night, longer if you can and it should clear it up....of course youll need to get rid of the mold too....and who was the genious that said bleach the carpet and then buy new? LOL get some sleep buddy

What about those Arm and Hammer baking soda boxes that you put in the refrigerator? You may want to try "Damp Rid" also. It is supposed to work well with future moisture.

Remove the seat and pull the carpet up so the air can move to both sides of the carpet(trust me I had 2 inches of standing water after a nice storm)Put some isopropyl alchohol in a spray bottle and soak your carpet*warning*(Do not stay in your car after this step for more than 2 or three minutes or you risk dehydrating yourself) Put a box fan in your car and let it sit like that for about 24 hours. The alchohol absorbs the water and the fan helps it dry up, the alchohol also absorbs any smell and leaves nothing behind.
My uncle worked for servepro for many years and that is just one trick.

Also it is good for getting BUM smell out as well as ass, and bad food etc.
BTW how much you selling that Z for??

make sure you lift the carpet off the floor and prop it up to dry. once dry, i agree with the affor-mentioned baking soda. you can also try sprinkling the baking soda/powder right on the carpet and let it sit for a day & then vacuum it up nicely.

as for the mold, go to a carpet cleaning place and ask them about some mold spray. a family friend owns a carpet cleaning biz and sells some anti-mold stuff for when basements flood. works the same no matter where. just spray the carpet both sides and the floor of the car too. let dry 24hrs, then you could put the carpet back down. the stuff works great! (trust me, i know. my basement flooded last spring...)

otherwise... buy stock in Walmart and go to town on the smelly trees!

Do NOT use fe-breeze, that stuff made my car smell WORSE Then b4 for at least a month
