Warning Noob Question....What are door cap's?

Like the title say's what are door cap's? There is this wide bodykit I was looking at getting, and it says 2 top door cap's and I was wondering what they are. And also if I get this kit will I have to get a shaved door handle kit? I really like the kit look's nice. Im just a little confused..Also I can get just the side skirt and front and rear bumber instead of the wide body kit, but it says for 97-99 only whats the difference between a 95-96 and a 97-99? And another noob question can the black part on a 2g Talon be painted?

Door caps, also called door garnish in the mitsu parts book, are trim piece that are mounted to the bottom of the door to help smooth the transition to the side skirts.

What are the small parts of the stock side skirts that cap onto the front portion of the side skirt right under the front fenders? I thought they were door caps... But I guess they have nothing to do with the door, so what are they called?

Original question. They say 97-99 only because of the headlights. When you buy a body kit for 97-99, you have to buy 97-99 headlights or modify the body-kit. You may be able to buy just the front and rear pieces, but they may go as part of the wide-body, and look out of place on a reg. body car.
