Paint on Headlights

My car got hit in the parking lot and whoever did it left a pretty decent amount of paint on the headlight and a nice dent in the fender. I think I can bang out the dent, but is there any hope for the head light, it's pretty scratched and it has a lot of paint on it? Can I just buff it off or compound it?

i would try the compound i know a friend that had the same problem with his mx6 and he did some really fine sanding and then buffed and clear coated it and it does not look too bad.. and one thing your already out a light if you dont try it, so might as well try what you think might work

use nail polish/paint remover on the paint....

no i'm serious. then get a cloth to rub it away.
