ok i dont like hardcore bass at all, i like it to sound good with a little bass to back it up, not loud at all but its there and its noticeable

so what would be the best speakers and everything for the best sounding, clearest sound i can get with a little bass for it?

i'd go for a nice set of component speakers for up front with a decent amp and possibly one 10 or 12 inch sub in a sealed box. brands and models all depend on how much you want to spend......

im not big for mega bass either. just the better sound for rock music. I have in my car the new Sony Xplod CA900x ($279.00 from Crutchfield) , very plain, but looks flashy, only works with the 2 different style remotes that came with it, because the face only has on/ off buttons and volume buttons. Its hooked up to a prymaid 400watt amp and (dont laugh) 2-10" Jensen Bass Speaker pound out a whopping 250 watts. they have surprisingly served well. i think the louder the better so mine stuff is always turned up as loud as it can be without sound distorion. its not the best system, but if you just looking to improve, not a bad and cheap way to go. my factory system was very good, so that helps out the sound. I would say that if your factory system has or had EQ (as mine did), then i would buy a headunit with a 7 band EQ .you can tell the difference if it did and your new headunit dont

first thing u need to know is how much you want to spend, and how good u want it to sound. do u have a deck already?

what kind of price range are you looking at for everything? i'd suggest a decent deck, 4 channel amp, nice components up front and 1 sub (10 or 12"). use the 2 channels on the amp to power the front components, and then bridge the other 2 channels for the sub.

components or coaxials? number one, rf isn't too great in the speaker category, number two, a halfway decent component system on an amp will MURDER any coaxials without a doubt.

Here's what i plan for my Talon:

5 1/4" Eclipse Component system up front
6 1/2" JL Audio Evolutions
10" Kicker CompVR for just enough bass
400x4 Phoenix Gold Platinum Amp
200x1 Phoenix Gold Platinum Amp

But I'm going for sound quality so it's just a suggestion.

i'd assume you've got coaxials then. a component system includes a mid range woofer, a tweeter, and a crossover to seperate the signal to each of these. i'd leave your rear speakers as they are, change your fronts to components. get a 4 channel amp that does about 100x4 RMS. this way you can run 100 watts RMS to each component, and then bridge the other 2 channels and give a small sub 200 watts RMS. i'd look into a 12" sub that recommends 200w RMS, and a ported box. if you don't have a nice head unit, get a one.

there's soooo many choices out there and alot depends on how much you can spend.

this is what i like tho (shortened list):

components:
Infinity (cheap)
Eclipse
MB Quart
Crystal (cheap)

Amps:
Rockford Fosgate
MTX
JBL (cheap)
Hifonics
US Acoustics (cheap)

Subs:
Audiobahn (cheap)
Cerwin Vega (cheap)
Image Dynamics
Kicker
JL

Head Units:
Alpine
Kenwood
Pioneer
Clarion

there's soooooo much more out there and i'm positive i'm leaving out alotta great stuff, if i were you tho i'd pick out some stuff you think looks good, and post it up...see what people say. remember also tho, you most definetly get what you pay for in car audio.

it totally depends on your budget man. but dont cheap out on the deck or the fronts if you want good sound quality. you can always run a sub later if you dont like the setup. for the deck, i wouldnt get somthing with a big flashy display because thats where all the money goes. go with somthing simple like an eclipse or alpine or clarion. basic looks but good sound quality. it also depends on how loud your goin to be playing it. if you arent always cranking it, then 100 watts x4 is too much. a quality 50 x4 amp will be more than adaquate in my opinion.
