well dam it seems alot more people are catching on to the fiberglassing craze. above was the post that i started when i was about to start my project.

im about finished, i just need to apply paint and get my amp in then shes ready for the back seat. i would post the pics on here but its so much easier to link the cardomain page that has my full writeup on it.

tell me what you think so far.

it looks to me that your mids are in the same enclosure as your subs. If the back of those mids arent sealed , you will experience immediate failure of the cones of the mids.

Looks nice though, just would make sure to have the mids separated from the subs.

yes please say you arent running the mids with the subs in the same airspace. looks nice though!

air vents? :thumbdown NO. They are mid drivers, maybe fosgates?
I must be blind then,I thought it was the holes that most sub enclosures have. I guess not oh well.

sub enclosures are not supposed to have holes, they are supposed to be completely sealed, unless they are ported boxes.
O well I dont even have a radio or speakers in my car so doesnt matter to me :thumbdown

is it just me or are the 2 subs using the same air space?. is there a wall in the middle or are the 2 subs using the same space.

no the subs have totally different air spaces than the mids. when i stretched the fabric, i layed it out on one side, then stretched it to meet in the middle bottom of the mold. i did that on both sides, so that created a V in the middle where the 2 sides met. then after that was glassed, i layed another piece to cover up the middle chamber and make the front look uniform. its hard to explain but i have 3 chambers, the 2 side ones for the sub and the middle.

they are fosgate 3.5 mids, i listened to them at best buy and i loved them, found them at a audio place for 30, i was temped to buy 2 sets seeing that best buy wanted 60 and i almost bought them but they were out.

i painted the box today, i used some stage1 black(black and clear mixed) i used on my tbird, after it was all dry it showed alot of imperfections being glossy and all. so i decided to paint it the dark charcoal grey of the interior and went to pep boys and got some paint cans. i have just done a few light layers and its looking better now. i will finish painting it tomorrow and go from there. hopefully i can pick up my amp too, im getting it from a guy who is freinds with the west coast audiobahn representative, so he "says" he can get me some extra goodies also. well see what that is, could be good.

doesnt matter if they share the same airspace together as long as it's within the cubic ft. spec that they require

hope to god that everything thing is ok because if a sub is off for any reason it starts to fight the other sup. not cool.

Looks awesome.

Makes me want to do a project but in my head it says. "Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, Sand, "

updated pics whitey!!! i wanna see how the black acame out, You had a gun to spray it??

LOL whitey i have a gun and sprayed it black, but it showed alot of the bigger mounds and ripples that i couldnt see or feel with the primer. so it looked really crappy, so i opted for my second idea, which was paint it the color of the interior to give it a more clean, stock look. so ive just about finished with it, i just used a bunch of spray cans and light coats now seeing as it was already black and going to grey its easier to see what i missed. it looks very clean now, since its a flat grey much like the interior. had to go all over the town with a stock panel in hand trying to match the dam spray caps to the plastic, god i looked like a retard. finally found some at pepboys.

i will post pics maybe tomorrow cause its raining today and all cars are in the garage.
