paint chips crap crap new paint

heya,

ok guys, i have got a BUNCH of paint chips and its driving me nuts as per the paint job is only a few months old

Can they patch things like this???

just give me any input you can

well im guessing from the newness of the paint there on the front end.... me and my friens all have the same problem with fiberglass bumpers.


you can get the same paint and touch up pay to have someone do but youll still be able to see it....all they will do is touch up and buff. either way it wont be that noticable except if you lookin hard


next time i have somethign painted im having the primer the same color so you can see a chip that bad.

just get way to much paint and way to much clear. then sit back and don't worry.

then don't drive the car until the paint is FULLY cured!!!

or, deal with the problem. everyone who has had a car repainted deals with it as well if they drive it a lot.

oh its way past cured.


i just wasnt sure if there was a way, or anything could be done without stripping and repainting it.


i wonder how much it would cost to take the car in and tell them to clear coat the bi*** a few times.

i meant if you get it repainted or cleared... then don't drive it til it fully cures, usually a month or so

probably a couple hundred to wetsand with 1500, then reclear

My whole paint job is going to shiznit. I could have gotten longer results from Electro Bake. ....but when I had my bumper re-painted (after a TON of chipping) the guy said he used a "chip resistant" clear. Whatever he did, it worked (until I hit that armidillo) The bumper is still the best looking part of the car now, even with the cracks. I guess you can ask if they do have something like that.

Actually that's the worst thing to do. That'll make all of the paint crack and peel if you use too much.

Dude, I feel your pain. I usually have my front bumper re-painted twice a summer. It sucks, but it only runs me $250.
