my damn antenna wont work and when i turn the radio on i can here it trying to go up and down but it is just stuck, how do i fix this and what parts do i need??? i have a 98 gs

if you can hear the motor trying to push it up/pull it down but it isn't moving then 1 of 2 things probably happened...either the mini clutch in the antenna drive motor assembly is fried or the antenna mast is bent to such a degree that it is binding so much it creates too much friction for the motor to oversome before that mini clutch takes over to keep from burning the motor up. I would just replace it, the universal power antennas from your local chain autoparts store work just fine, or an oem replacement unit would work just as well. Since it is already broken you can also attempt to grab onto it with some needle nose pliars and pull the mast up manually as the motor runs to put it up...this will allow you to extend the mast fully and see if it is bent (causing the binding problem i described) or if it is the clutch. If it turns out it is bent try to straighten it and see if that does the trick. but I've got my money on the need for a replacement.
