How to Mount Seat Harnesses??

Where to mount them??

why would you take out the back seat to mount harnesses? take out the rear seat BELTS and mount the top 1 or 2 mounts for the harness in the stock bolt locations. there are 4 mounts back there, upper rear passenger and driver side, and 2 in the middle of the rear seat.

use the factory backseat mounts, but leave the back seats in as well. i did it in my 1G a few years back with no problems & it looked good too. i think in the middle i ran the new harnesses through the existing slots for the rear seatbelts. worked great, still had backseats

try that out

if you drilled in front of the back seats, the harnesses wouldn't be close to the 45 degree angle they should be at. you'd be crushed if you got in an accident.

incorrect. the belts are supposed to be ABOVE and no less than a 45% angle they can be completely horizontal but anything below the 45% mark is a saftey hazard. because the impact from a crazh would go directly to the back of the seat lifting the seat off its mounts and therefore launching you forward

My bad, I worded that wrong. i should have said "it will be less than a 45 degree angle and would crush you". i didn't neccessarily mean "it should be at a 45' angle", just not less than.

you are correct with your diagram though, that is the best mounting location.

You could also buy a harness bar to keep it even more simple....just a thought. I got one from DVDT, chro-moly/TIG welded, then chromed for show  ....I have yet to install it but will post up some picks once it is in. Paid like $200 including the chroming.

Is that a bolt-in part? I need a harness bar. Where do you buy those?

would it be bad to bolt your harness to your rear strut bar in the trunk?
