ok, my question is, what to use to paint the cloth door panel things black, like the one right behinf the door handle, and the one that has the speaker cover on it, i want it be black, so what do you guys use? i thought maybe, the wal mart clothes dye, but i dunno any help is appreciated

If I were you I would just reupholster them. I did my own on my old firebird using black leather and the door panels are put together pretty similar. It took some time but it was well worth it. However they do make a fabric paint that you should use if your just wanting to swap the colors of it.

dupli-color makes a fabric paint that wont make the threads all clumpy. Try that.

Will cold-spray dyes cover the patterns in the cloth, or will it bleed through?

Most of the ones I have seen either bleed through or wear down over time and reveal the original patterns. Reupholstery is the way to go. Or new seats. I haven't seen a dye or fabric paint yet that does the trick.

I always say save the money you would spend on cheap parts over and over and just wait a little longer for the good stuff. People aren't usually wrong when they say that.

I used vinyl paint on mine, but I'm looking to reupholster them. The feel of a buddy's 98 camaro convinced me, our door panels are rough and uncomfortable, they'd be a lot better with some padding and soft leather/vinyl.
