2G Removing gauge cluster

if i remove my gauge cluster in my 97, will affect anything on the ecu or car itself. I want to put my own custom gauge cluster in and have it molded in place.

I hear on the 1g's you can do it, but i can't find any info for 2g's

I want to try and fit a tach, speedometer, oil pressure, oil temp, boost, fuel pressure, and egt in my gauge cluster. I don't need the turn signals or mileage. i'm sure i can rig up something for turn signals though

well I once removed my gauge cluster and drove around without it and no problems

Yep I drove for a solid month or two w/ no gauge cluster. As long as your car isnt planning on overheating or losing an oil filter or something you can do it. You just have no warning lights.
