taking care of carbon fiber, also can u wetsand/buff

Whats the best way to take care of carbon fiber hoods? can you wax them or is there anything better? also can you wet send and buff a cf hood?

have it UV cleared. Then just wax it after a few weeks.

You shouldn't have to sand and buff it unless it has scratches that buffing won't take out. The resin on the surface of your hood is much thicker than paint ( I guess some could come with a clearcoat or something on top of that but I doubt it) Assuming the hood was made properly you should be able to sand it with 600 or 1000 grit sandpaper way more than you could with paint. If you have a deep scratch you could even go down to 320 or 400 grit but you must be extremly careful not to sand through. If you do it's not my fault it's just the way composites patch and repair goes. Work your way back up to 1000 or 2000 grit then a course compound buff then a fine buff. If there are scratches or dulness you need to go back to the sandpaper and buff it back up.

should i wet sand the hood if it has wax build up or a foggy haze

I had some DEEEEEEP scratches in mine as well as some haze. I took 400grit to the scratches, then 800 all over with water constantly running over it, then 1000 and then 2000. I then went through a 3 stage waxing on it and it looked as good as new. If I can find some before pics I will take an after tomorrow and post them.

Buffing won't do anything for a clearcoat that's turned yellow.
