I have a 1992 FWD TSi that I would like to customize a bit. What is the consensus say here on the page for the best way to make look more enhaced than stock, but not overdone but really unique and CLEAN.

Give me pictures and examples (not smart ass comments) Please....

I would appreciate some examples too.

Also is it worth is to lower a 1G? or is the ride going to be too hard for the look? let me know.

Car I have is Grey metallic with 1992 bodystyle and 16 inch gunmetal wheels factory design but custom painted to match the car. I wanted to give a it a more trick look, but still original. :talon:

These days, the best way to keep a 1G unique is to keep the damn thing clean with good, shiny paint. There are so many beat up 1Gs around, both fast and not fast - but one that's actually clean & shiny & fast, that's a rarity.

Prokit or H&R level drop width - like 1" - seems to be fine - I wouldn't dare go lower though, I scrape every once in a while as it is... and it hurts every single time

Most of the 1G DSM's I see are rusted, blowing out smoke, have mitch match parts doors and fenders with horrible paint jobs.

My 1991 Eagle Talon AWD TSi is the maroon with silver and original stock wheels, I got the windows tinted 15 % dark still legal tint, I put Carbon Fiber Taillights on the back and I do keep it REALLY CLEAN. It still needs something else like a Carbon Fiber hood or something.....oh yeah it needs rims 17 or 18's probably a gunmetal color with a polished lip.

My new car just got it a couple days ago...1992 Eagle Talon FWD Turbo is Grey metallic with grey gunmetallic wheels that match the car. I was thinking I would mirror tint the windows and put a Carbon Fiber hood on it. I just wanted something kind of trick to it, but still clean and not a bodykit, but some kind of modification to the sides or something....I don't know....I am trying to bounce around ideas to see. :thumb:

well put! exactly the way i feel

Here is my list:
1) 1-1.5" drop
2) 17" rims
3) 1ga Turbo Wing
4) Window Tint
5) Good paint washed and waxed
and a front mount always adds to the mix well.
Pretty Much something like this:
One of the hottest cars in the world, IMO!

nothing real special, but it looks very classy and taken care of. I really respect anyone who has the nerve to take extremely good care of a car that is over 13 years old.

Thanks for posting those pictures Greenmachine97 They are really great and I really appreciate the time you took to help me out.

I really want to make my DSM look really Clean and nice sitting next to one of the guys I work with's Acura Integra with a bodykit. You have given me some EXCELLENT reference material. Thanks :thumb:

ive always liked the champange color with silver rims like that ... its always been a really laid back and classy look to me ..

Luke :dsm:

WOW! I had almost no respect for 1g's until now. Those look very nice. I still prefer the 2g look but I can see how some of you guys love the 1g. Every 1g I have seen in person has been faded, torn up etc......Except for one which had full body kit, and looked very nice if not a bit over the top.

As others have said, get some nice rims, tint, lower an inch or so, get some nice paint and keep it looking good.

I have 15% Dark Limo tint (if you look at my gallery) :D
I need 17's or 18's really bad :(
My original paint is an 8.5 out of 10 and waxed looks like a 9.5 :thumb:
Bigger brakes sound good but how much?

How much does it cost to get lowering springs and get them installed......maybe I can squeeze enough cash out to do that? Let me know.

I got my lowering springs (goldline) for like $149, i think i should of went with eibach or sprint, but i installed them myself which saved me a lot of money. As far as getting them installed by somebody else it just really depends on where you go, and what they charge by the hour, its much easier to do it yourself.

heres a crappy picture of my car with the springs

How do you install HID's in a first generation DSM? With the pop up headlights?? If anyone knows how or knows of thread let me know. Thanks

He works at Pure Tuning as his windshield says. And you have to buy the lights which they sell for $499. But you need the HID housing for them to fit and thats another $100 he said. Alot of money but it is damn sweet looking and helps night vision.

To get HID's in a flip up 1g, you'll just need to get the HIDs, a H4 base adapter/shield for the D2S/R bulbs, and a H4 sealed beam conversion housings. I'm using Hella housings and they produce a very clean sharp cutoff with my HID's.

I love the look of that white 1g with the RH C5s. Also the red one with the kosie's(sp) One day, when my car is running good and is actually fast, I want to redo the entire exterior. Nothing crazy, jsut a full repaint, and shave the antanne, rear wiper and squirter, and then shave the gas door and move the filler to behind the liscence plate. Nothing crazy, jsut a few mods that I think would really help clean up the body and make it look a bit more smooth.

Sounds like a GREAT Set-up......what I want to know is how much will this set-up cost me and how long does it take to install?

my god that 1g lip is hedious.. it makes me cry. i know a lot of work went into that and i remember reading the threads about it but it could look a lot smoother and mabey lower the font 1 inch so the car dosent taper up in the front and rear but make the front low and smooth like on a super car or something.. not big but low...

just my .02

thats not the one i was looking for..
its .. from like a mazda or something.. that someone customized to fit it..
and i agree
that thing is hideos!
