Just wondering if the emblem is a functional vent as well.

Looks like a vent to me, and if it is, it should be functional. It will allow the heat to come out, just like the evo hood.

Looks almost like carbon weave to me. Like they painted the hood and left the symbol bare underneath.

yea i dont see any holes in the symbol. looks like a carbon fiber hood painted

yeah I was thinking carbon fiber too but then it kinda looks lower when you look at the edges of the green so I was thinkin vent with a fine wire mesh.

i think it's painted with the carbon showing through on the symbol....think about it...how many underhood support runners are there under there? If it is truly a cutout then that hood has to flex like crazy which is just a bad idea...so I'll stick with thinking it is carbon.

Looks vented to me. The mesh sits lower than the actual hood and the pattern is too consistent to be a weave, the sun distorts the carbon fibers actual image.

I don't know what it is, but it isn't a vent, unless he figured out a way to have the vent contour to the bump in the hood.

its not that hard to bend wire mesh.........

hmmmm....looks like it is cut out and then has mesh underneath, more than likely a fiberglass hood too. But it does look like the shadows around the edges would point towards it being cut out. And if that is carbon (I thnk it is a mesh, but not neccesarily the normal kind used) then that is a HUGE weave pattern! IF it is carbon than that is one hell of a clear coat build up....man that is deep! :)

Well, the reason I say that is because it's a perfect fit. Looks too smooth to be some bent mesh.

To me, at least. But then again, I don't have much experience with this kind of stuff.

i say its mesh you ever look at mesh at an angel it looks like that you could bend it to match hood
