Well the situation is that, as you guys can see I am installing a 97 front bumper on my 95...

The biggest problem I have is that I have APC front headlights for 97, but they are not lining up flush with the fenders, and there is a little gap. My friend said to let the body shop do it since they say the fenders might have a little give if you unbolt it and push it up and rebolt.... Did you guys have to do this? Also the lights are pissing me off... since the holes dont line up that well... Can you guys tell me if I need to maybe shave off some things on the back of the housings?

And would it looked wierd if they were to adjust for the gap? and would the bumper fit on like the 95 one?

and I decided on painting the car black with a blue tint, should I paint the center piece in the back too? just a question. :)

Well, not trying to sound or be mean or anything, but your first mistake was buying APC headlights. APC = Crap IMO, you should just go with the stock 97-99 headlights. I have done this conversion back when I had my RS-T. Everything lines up PERFECT when you have the stocker 97-99 headlights and the 97-99 bumper. No gaps, no nothing. The reason you may have a gap with your APC's is because they might be for your 95 and not for the 97-99 style. Although they look the same, they are infact different. I had my 97-99 headlights installed before I swapped out the bumper, and there was a pretty noticeable gap toward the center of the bumper. Just go stocker headlights and bumper and you'll be fine. :thumb:

^^ he's talking about the gap at the fenders , not the gap at the middle of the bumper. I also just did this conversion and have a gap at the fenders anyone know what the deal is.????

APC is probably the company that makes the best replacemenct/aftermarket headlights for our cars. Everything else they make i have no experience with and is questionable. But as far as headlights and tail lights they are pretty good.

On my 95 TSi there is a bolt at each corner of the bumper that connect the bumper and fender. All the bumper removal v-faqs dont talk about those so Im confused about what cars have this or not.
I broke one trying to loosen it and now I have a slight gap.
Maybe try that??
though sounds like you mean the fender and the headlight.

Aligning everything isnt that hard. Just losen the bolts holding on what ever is out of place and push, pull, twist or do what ever it takes to make everything look good and then tighten the bolts back up.

so that is the case, I will try it when I work on my car next time, thanx.
