5% limo is pretty sweet, might be illegal in your state tho...and it can be hard to see out of while driving at nite. it looks awesome tho! i love mine.

yeah...i'm wondering about that too....limo/mirror tint would be sweet...but illegal in cali.....

how about this:

75% on the sides and 50% on the rear?

any suggestions (for those in cali or know california laws)?

75?????? the lower the number the darker. 75% is like practically NOTHING. get atleast 35%, which is legal in most states. i've had it, and that was no where's near dark enough for me...

yeah i understand the percentages the higher it is the more visibility one has to see into the car...

i'll check into the 35 though....i'll just call up my nearest CHiP (california highway patrol) and ask.

of course i can go as dark as i want...just drive with my windows down ;)

Has anyone ever tinted a Spyder? I saw one the other day that looked pretty sweet and I figured it would be pretty cheap as there are hardly any windows

about the same price, and the rear window is very difficult to get done right being the edges are fabric.

checked the tinting percentage out in CA...i think the cop was pulling my leg....ONLY 50%!??!?!??! that's for the front...

they only care about the front....you can have mirror tint for all they care for the rears...

but i'll ask another cop....make sure about the percentage...

most states are 35%. and usually, unless you have a 4 door vehicle or a van or something like that, rear can be no more than 35% as well. check maybe the dmv?

I had 5% done all around on mine, i just like the fact that nobody can see in.

that's true...but then we're talking about my great state of california...

no interior (as engine wise) allowed in any car! No new air filter, header, etc. unless it's an offical OEM part.

no neon lights, lowering of the car, exhaust modification, etc.

needless to say...once i'm outta college, i'm moving outta this damn state

i know what 35% looks like and although it still looks good enough to see though...the officer said it's still illegal.

so i'll check the DMV....not now...later.... ::sippin on a 40:: ;)

WTF....i mean cold air intake instead of 'air filter' wtf....man is this ONE bottle really getting to me? LOL

when u say front do u mean front windshield?
i though it was illegal to tint that no matter what

Best looking tint on any black car is triple limo all the way around, had a friend that did that, didn't take him more then a few hours to get pulled over.

California laws:

You can have louder exhaust, you just can't put a larger diameter exhaust on then the OEM.

I have never, ever, heard of a law against lowering your car, if so, there would probably be a lot more people getting pulled over, considering if your car has been lowered, it's obvious.

California dosen't care how dark the back is, but the driver's side and passenger side can't have any tint. With that being said my friend has both of his tinted 30 percent and has never been pulled over for it.

It’s legislation that creates the laws and the judicial system that enforces it. With that said it’s where you are in the great state of California…some cops/CHiP are stricter than others and sometimes they just have nothing better to do…with that said:

-had three friends get a ticket for not having a license plate in the front
-another friend got a ticket for parking OUTSIDE the parking lines
-one in San Diego got his car impounded because it was lowered and a simple cold air intake
-a plethora of friends who got fix it tickets because of the mufflers (AVOID the Stockton area when you can!!!)

did I mention the fine for racing is like around $2000.00?

people can write laws all day if they want…it the ones who enforce it that count

but cheer up Californians here's something to get your mind off all those law troubles:

Alright up here in the "NW" our laws are 35% no darker, i live in a city with lil bit over 150k people and ive only ever heard of one person that got a ticket for too dark of tint, they dont even sell 35% here the highest is 30%, i tinited my windows on saturday took me about 8 hrs but hey it looks good, anyways i went 5% all the way around and its damn dark, its really hard to back up with no lighting, i would have to roll my windows down but i cant for 3 days, if i dont like it ill take it to 20% but from right now it looks awesome

I work at a tint shop, and I have 5% on my car for advertisement purposes (makes the platnum graphics show up better) but let me tell you that your rear view mirror will become useless. Go with about 20% or higher for the side windows (rolldowns). With the curvature of our windows, they will look darker than you think. Stay away from any shop that doesn't carry a lifetime warranty, and be sure to tell them you want the rear done in one piece, not five! Also, those fade to crap films are junk. Llumar rocks!
