custom system question

I've seen people before mount their subs in the trunk of a 2g so that they are inverted over the spare tire well. I was wondering if this would sound good or if you have to do any modding to the well (besides take the wheel out of course haha) such as do u have to make a seperator for the 2 subs so they have their own air space? lemme know what ya think.

Basically the only correct way to do it is to fiberglass an eclosure or build a very complicated wooden box. You can't just slap a board over the tire well and invert the subs on that.

correct. you can glass up the bottom but you will need to remove the spare tire holder so you can split the airspace lengthways and slightly towards the drivers side

If you take your time and make a good template you should be able to use a mdf center divider and mdf top and glass the rest.

Tip: use aluminum foil on the entire well so you can remove the galss pieces. you may also want to use a piece of poster board over the windshield washer resevoir to form a smooth contour and the aluminum foil over that... and you may want to dynomat or accustamat the spare tire well first
