Somethings screwy here, Ive tried to install 3 aftermarket stereos in my car,
one came on but played no audio, latest one will accept/eject a disk but wont
come on.

One problem is the MORON that owned it before cut the factory harness's off.
But he left enough slack for me to re-attach them (I just never understood why
someone wouldnt go pay 5-8 bucks to have a clean neat install when they are
dishing out 300-1000 for a system). Anyways I believe all the connections are
tight, especially since they are obviously getting power and are grounded well.

I can get a cheap-ass westman or west-tell or some crappy radio brand to work
in there (didnt have a radio when i purchased) but when I stick in a pioneer
or sony reciever (using a wire harness) I get ye old middle finger from my car.

So wtf, any suggestions?

Thanks.

The best purchase for my car stereo I think i ever made was a wire crimper kit. make sure you have all the right wires connected, and I suggest crimping them with like male female ends and then electrical tape over them. TGwisting them together and taping them just doesnt work.

So the factory harness was cut right? So, that means you gonna have to wire the player straight up to those wires, I don't think you can use a harness now.

Check out www.installdr.com, it should have a diagram that shows what factory wire is what.
