You know, I think it's really retarded that everyone who likes the kit has to get supra tails.... I mean, a supra taillight conversion should remain just that, a conversion, not part of a body kit. I can only imagine how many customers they've turned away by forcing us to use the supra taillights.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm a DSM owner and damn proud of it... taillights and all... I can understand the front bumper, but c'mon! Taillights?!?

wow. im impressed, i had my doubts, but that is one clean widebody. of course minus the supra tails! it flows really well. i like the intergrated wing.. but id like to see a tdr/turbo wing on there too and you really cant do that with that lip sticking up. it shouldve been a bolt on CF wing, that be pimp.

I think the kit is wack. Completely messes with the body lines. The front bumper however is sweet. I ordered one last week should be here mon/tues. About the tails, They should have done a removeable piece that occupies the exact same space and area of the stock tails. Like i'm just about finished doing. This way if you have a crash , you can just buy some stockers and throw them in rather than reglassing your whole rear end.. I am currently working on something like this............
but its a 3 piece ......... and thinking about bringing it into production. See the link for day pics of the gt 300 day pics of kit.
New style front bumper request....look inside

I hate the Supra Tails on our cars. But that picture shows it can be done right and flow with the Eclipse body! I actually think that looks hot. Plus a good point was given, if you do wreck or somehow screw up, just plant the stockers in thier instead of redoing the whole custom job. That looks damn Good!

A DSM is not a damn supra, and will never be one. Ahh I do like conversions like this on some show cars but I mean if you're riding around with supra tails it's just wrong, or I'd feel very weird driving that. You're just going to trick idiots, the people that know there cars are going to laugh at it because it's an eclipse not a damn supra. I like supras and of course like dsm's but they shouldn't be compared or anything. They both have great bodylines so leave it the way it was made, not try throwing parts from a different car onto another. I never said I hated the kit I just am against the supra tails. Get the kit and make them fit with the eclipse tails and then it would be hot. If you're not then I insist you don't get the kit. My opinion of course, but if you want to spend a couple $K on a taillight conversion, then sell your DSM and have some other cash handy and buy a supra.

L2RTSIAWD you don't want to see that car in the light, if that is the same car that I saw here in PA at the Custom Compacts at Carlisle, it was a mess, the paint was terrible, and there was flawed body work everywhere.
I still do not believe in and never will believe in grafting fiberglass onto metal. Fiberglass is a composite and no matter how long you let it dry it will shrink and move on you. Why people will consistantly remove the metal substructures of their cars in favor of fiberglass panels is beyond me. I did all of the body work and fitment on my body kit and a year later did more body work and refitment and repainted the entire car, now a year after that I can still see where the body kit dosn't fit perfectly due to the shrinkage of the fiberglass. That is just my $0.02, if you enjoy wavy bodywork (or are willing to pay top $ to get it done right numerous times), cracks along "molded" panels, and hours of fitment (because no fiberglass manufacturer sells anything that will remotley fit the car it is meant for) than this type of kit has your name written all over it.

Its not apoint of tricking anyone, Its just eye pleasing and looks like a nice custom job IMO. I like it but opinions differ. Everyone know what a supra and a dsm look lkike . Can easily be told apart. However with some minor bodywork can also be seen very alike. And stock supra's with abot 30k miles are gonig for around $30k so the conversion is alot cheaper, but people dont necessary do the conversion cuase they cant afford a supra.
All its is is taking parts that you like better and building a hybrid car. I would love to do the S15 cocversion when I'm done with this, so who am I going to trick with supra tails and S15 headlights ?? Or I am actually considering doing supra headlights.........
Alchemy 98 - the conversion I'm protoyping is about same price as the edm tails and rermovable also, ( just lijke stock, see picture above)
EDIT : I dont want to mislead anyone about the picture I posted . That car is not mine , nor did i do any work on that car. I found that pic on the net a few months ago and thats were I got the Inspiration to do a boltone conversion thats removable and can be used for shows , everyday , etc......... Its the same Concept as above but its a 3 piece setup not including the lamps.

so, your saying your proud to have an eclipse but the reason you hate the kit is because it has a different cars taillights? thats like me saying , i like the kit, but im proud to have an eclipse and i refuse to change my front bumper. if you like everything about the eclipse, then keep its body stock... even if you dont like the taillights, you still have the stock mounts, stock lights and its made of fiberglass so you can easily trim away the excess. it seems to me like alot of people are jumping on the bandwagon when it comes to liking things and saying they dont cause everyone else says the same thing.

I'm proud of being an eclipse owner... So I wouldn't do anything to change it beyond anythign but an eclipse with some body work (wide body kit, or 4 piece kit). I actually like the kit, and don't think the front is too bad (although I would try to use my oem bumper, or maybe the buddyclub2 if i were to get it). I know it seems kind of like an oxymoron, but basically, I want people to look at my car and still say "that's a badass looking eclipse"... Not "what the hell is that?". With Supra taillights, people behind me would see a Supra, not a wide body eclipse... our taillights our a dead giveaway to what we are, and are instantly recognizeable as eclipse taillights.
Anyways, you made a good point that it's easily trimmed to accomodate the oem taillights. If I get my new job, I might try it.

Love the front actually.
Hate the rear because of the supra tails.
Like the "pinched wing" tho.
It's nice but ditch the supra rear and if your going to do any light swapping do the front to Silvia lights (i think it's silvia).
Now that's sexy.
