Hi guys. I have a '97 Eclipse Spyder GST and stock 6 x 9 rear speakers. I've been told that the Infinity Kappa 692.5i 6 x 9 wouldn't fit to my car since the magnet is too big. But will a 6.5" Kappa 62.5i fit with a speaker adapter (6x9 to 6.5") without hammering the wheel well or any modifications? Have anyone done this with success?

Please provide any input. Thanks!

Just take out your rear speakers and leave them out... Rear speakers are bad for sound imaging unless you plan on having a mobile home theatre system..

no way man, I used to have Kicker 6.5" coaxials in the back and they sucked ass. I replaced them with Eclipse 6.5" 3-ways powered at 75 watts per chanel and they sound great. The imaging is killer from my system. If I got rid of the Eclipses I know that it would mess it up, I need those in there.

i have infinity kappas - and they fit. They come with a riser piece that gives you about 3/4 inch more clearance. Plus, you can take the rubber magnet cover off also. Good speaker...
