How To:Cleaning up that 2g, basic exterior mods that give the nice clean sleeper look

Looking for a list of exterior mods to clean up a 2g Turbo. I am looking to buy shortly and intend on keeping it simple with nice set of Volks, Tint CF Hood maybe and whatever else you guys see fit for cleaning it up, not too stock but not ricey. Just clean and sharp. Thanks, pics are appreciated.

In terms of exterior mods..its impossible for us to list what can go on your eclipse without gobbling hours of our time. Don't go by pictures people present to you, you have to find out what you think looks good on your ride. So start shopping around.

Definately a set of lowering springs, the amount of drop is up to you.

Paint the center of the tail section (between the rear lights) to match the body.
1 1/2 inch drop. 17 inch rims.

Don't forget the black out headlights mod if it is a Talon or a Pre 97 Eclipse.

No stickers (as has been said).

Painting the door handles black won't make it look like an RS. It'll just make it look tacky. RS's have higher side skirts than the GS(T)(X).

you would have to paint the mirrors black also to pull off the rs look!

just black handles doesn't look that bad...my gsx is that way

My GS has a painted door handle on the right and a black handle on the left. You're right; it doesn't look that bad, but I'd rather have both of them painted.

Now to the starter of the thread: I think you pretty much had a good idea going there. Volks, CF Hood, Tint. Now if you have gauges, I'd take em and put em on the passenger side dash so people can't see the glow as if they were on the left pillar. What's the color of your car btw?

painting door handles and mirrors is a little over the edge of being a "sleeper" should he take off his rear disc brakes and put on some drums too i think not. i agree with a nice set of rims and a ~1.5 drop (or 1.3 if your like me and love prokits ) painting the centerpiece is also another clean look i like a lot. and get a cf hood. now if you think a cf is too "flashy", do not and i repeat do NOT get a cf hood. people try to "hardcore performance guy" and say "oh yea, the hood saves me a ton of weight"... screw that, everyone knows if you buy a cf hood, its just that reason to have a NOTICABLE CF hood. there is nothing wrong with that, just dont let people give you any shit about it. you can also get colored CF hoods - where at i dont know (i looked for a red one for a looong time) ive seen blue, red, and yellow CF so theres an idea. dont be a tool and do things to your car because people on here tell you, its YOUR CAR. do what you think looks good and what you want to do. we only give SUGGESTIONS.

No no. I agree fully in what you said before. I can read it, but would it hurt to "capitalize" a word and punctuate "correctly"? "..." between each statement hardly suffices. It took me like half an hour. I'm not looking to start a fight here, so I am saying I 'agree' with you.

To add on to tunerkid's statement: And GeESeX, if you get a CF hood, you could paint it to match the color of your car. Cheers.
