i think i do need something...its been 24 hours since a sprayed it and the paint is still kind of soft..its not comin off but if u push down hard on it it would probably leave a mark....should it get real hard after another 24 hours or do i need to put something over the paint to make it hard?

Did you sand it b4 you did it? If not, sand it down and start over. Use 2 coats and a coat of clear. IMO use a chrome paint on the lettering since thats the color scheme you are going for.

im sure you dont want to redo it but if you do, get that new krylon fusion paint...it bonds to plastic better

Over www.2gnt.com there is someone that makes custom valvecovers. Also you could take your stock one to anyplace that does powdercoating.

Ya' would think I would have a carbon fiber plug cover....but this is what I will have instead, I like it even though the picture came out somewhat crappy.

For what it's worth, I was running without a plug cover last winter, and during one of my snow excursions (sliding around, splashing puddles, etc) my lost a lot of power. Turns out I'd somehow splashed water up and into the spark plug wells... almost half full on the left two, hehe. Dirt too. Once I cleaned it all out I was fine (changed the plugs shortly after), but I don't think I'll ever expose the plug wells again.

Of course if you don't do that sort of thing maybe it'll never be a problem I love my AWD, hehe.

Personaly I like HokieDSM CF cover much better being completely flat on top. And would like to know where he got it from.

i dont think running without one is all that much diffrent than having one with vents or just one in general. They arent air tight to begin with and slope in away that water, if poured on top, will run into the spark plug area anyways. also, the spark plug wires should hold water out as well, as they are pretty much air tight over the spark plugs. so you must have been driving through ALOT of water....
