i need some ideas on where i should put my sub. My previous car was a GMC Jimmy and I had a JL18W6 with a 1000watt MTX amp. Lets just say my mom wasn't happy with that and was happy that it got stollen. Now i have a 96 Eclipse and i need more bass, but I need it to take up as little room as possible. I was thinking about building a box on that little ledge right by the back seat. Does that sound like a good idea? id like to see your trunks. or tell me what you did. thanks a lot

oh I just want to put in 1 10" sub

actually i wouldnt have to either. you build a false floor to raise it up to the level of where the support in the trunk is.. thats just abough high enough to clear the spare tire well.. ofcourse i dont have mine in there anymore anyhow since it wont fit over my brakes..

You should check out the JL Audio stealthbox for your car. It comes with a 10w3, looks great and is easy to install. Here's a picture.

I don't know how to fiberglass. is it hard to do? how do i get started. I dont really want to spend a lot of money on this project. so im not going to have someone else build it professionally. I could probably make a wooden box that aint no thang. well see. i need ideas and give me some pictures.

Fiberglass isn't all that hard to work with it is just messy and if you get the resin on your hand it is a pain in the a@@ to get off. If you try it buy gloves and make sure to cover everything around where you are working because the resin get all over the place (its really smelly too!). I never worked with it before I tried to in building my box, but I used wood and fiberglass. The actual enclosure is wood but it is covered by fiberglass and molded into the side panel with fiberglass so that I can paint it. I will post pictures when it is fininshed.
